Cruise Ship Passenger Died After Falling Ill With Cruise Ship Norovirus
Roy Sillett, 74, is believed to have suffered a fatal heart attack on board the Transocean Tours cruise ship Marco Polo after he fell ill while aboard the ship.
According to NHS Highland, about 380 people on board the ship had become ill with suspected norovirus.
Of the 380 people with symptoms, 340 were passengers and 40 were crew members.
The London Port Health Authority said Transocean Tours could face legal action because the authority was not informed of illness on board the ship when it docked at Tilbury in Essex, before setting sail for the tour of Scotland and Ireland.
What has really miffed them is the passengers were disembarked at Invergordon and sicker than dogs, bringing their germs into town.
Reports say this ship was sick for several voyages, the crew were not taking any additional measures to control the outbreak and boarding passengers were not told in advance of boarding that the ship was sick.
